My website was recently hacked – I wasn’t paying attention to it since I have maintained it now for nearly 20 years! However, due to certain people who don’t have a clear purpose in life, ai tools have made it easier for them to cause mischief. A dear friend recently was duped into giving a criminal all of her savings because they called her and put her “daughter” on the phone. It sounded exactly like her and she was afraid and crying for help. These criminals claimed that they would release her if the funds were given to them. What would I do in this circumstance? Before I learned of it, I may have fallen for it, or may not have – I might have called my daughter’s phone to confirm whether or not it was real. Even knowing now what happened – it was not her daughter, but ai creating the voice, I am certain I would also have not thought clearly enough to verify. This is where our daily practices come into play. We must pay attention to new dangers in the world and return daily to practices that helps us to pay attention, be present, be physically fit. We really have no other choice in the matter except to be a victim or be aware. At least that is my own personal conclusion. Each person reading this, if any, will know what daily practices work for you. For me a morning meditation is essential – yet I am easily distracted during my morning sessions of late. So I take short presence breaks throughout the day. During these presence breaks, I do my best – whatever the task – and leave the rest. . . to my God….
